Standard Pocket Transit, Azimuth (0-360) - Durable & Precise Field Tool in Orange
Concerned about the durability and precision of your field instruments? It's common to worry whether a compass will withstand harsh environments or maintain its accuracy over time. The Standard Pocket Transit in orange is engineered to address these concerns with a rugged design, CNC-machined from a durable aluminum block, and sealed components that resist water and dust, ensuring reliable performance in the toughest conditions.
The Standard Pocket Transit, now available in bold orange for better visibility in the field, is designed for geologists and professionals who demand precision. It features strike and dip measurement capabilities, low-angle reading precision with its flat bottom, and a non-slip silicone foot. The CNC-machined aluminum body is hard-anodized to resist scratches and wear, while the sapphire jewel bearing and NdFeB disc magnet ensure smooth and accurate needle movement. This robust transit is also equipped with an unobtrusive bottle opener, making it a practical companion for long days in the field.
How to Use:
To use the Standard Pocket Transit, ensure the needle is unlocked, then position the flat bottom on the surface for accurate strike and dip measurements. Utilize the short and long sights for shooting bearings, and adjust the declination if necessary using the declination adjustment feature. The needle will settle quickly thanks to the induction dampening system. When you're done, lock the needle and store the transit in its protective leather case for safekeeping.
